A Marketing Strategy You May Not Have Considered
September 23, 2008 – 3:04 pm | by poochMaking love to their customers their products and services, and often tell you that you should take your business at the national level? (or all over the world?)
Do you have a business concept that if we could only get people to sell to you, you know that it would be a great success?
Do you have a great product or service, but it is struggling to find commissioned salesmen who sell it for you?
These are common frustrations that often hear small business owners.
I received an email the other day that reminded me of a simple solution that solves the problems mentioned above.
Well, maybe not so simple, but it is definitely a solution that is widely used, but only by a very small subset of companies.
The solution to the problem
Franchises.
What a novel idea.
The franchise is a very effective way to expand your business.
How a friend of mine grew Consulting Franchise from $ 0 to $ 8 million in less than 10 months
I witnessed first hand the effectiveness of the franchise can be a friend of mine started a consultation with the franchise from scratch and built an $ 8 million dollar company in less than 10 months!
And he did not even have a customer!
Can you believe that?
He did not have a client. He simply took their processes, procedures and business model and franchise and then sold it to other consultants.
In fact, he “leave” in its franchise system in place for him.
It is amazing to contemplate. (I was a little jealous
But why do so few business owners franchise?
… Probably for several reasons:
1. They think it is too complicated.
2. They fear that he risks losing control.
3. They believe that it is very expensive.
4. They do not feel they have a business that can be franchised.
Or, just probably did not know how to do it for ever with him.
All these fears are unfounded.
They are myths (like my friend the result).
Most any business can be franchised.
The franchisability a firm has more to do with the way you run your business from the company that are
Here are ten items that make your business Franchise
1. First
You do not need a decent business concept. However, it need not be a novel concept. Heck, look how many joints are hamburger franchise.
2. Second
You must have a good operating system. This means that many of its operations are somewhat organized.
3. Third
Your business needs to be something simple. By that I mean, you should be able to teach someone else in a relatively short period of time.
4. Fourth
The needs of your business to make money. It is no use of franchising a business is not profitable. If the franchisee can bring about a 15% return on their money, then it is fine.
5. Fifth
You have to be able to manage a business. It will no longer be managing a small business so you’ll have to put your hat franchisor and refine their management capacity.
6. Sixth
Is your business has a uniqueness to it? This goes against what I said in the first element, but it helps.
7. Seventh
Your business needs to be able to develop in any location. It should not have a regional flavor to it, to the point where I do not work in another part of the country.
8. Eighth
The industry is your business, preferably not be dominated by large conglomerates. Industries with a lot of mom and pop stores is a good sign.
9. Ninth
Can the inventory that your company uses will be financed? You’ll need to create financial leverage and it is better to have assets that can be financed.
10. Tenth
Are you willing to take advice and invest in the proper support you need for your business franchise? You might be a large window company, but probably do not know much about the franchise so it will have to invest in professional help.
Conclusion
Franchising is a viable marketing strategy to expand its business. Once again, I have seen literally explode the franchise business in a very short period of time.
